In the beginning (of Day#1),
who created
the heaven and the earth ?
In the beginning,
God created the heaven and the earth.  (Gen 1:1)
What was the created earth like ? the earth was without form, and void;
and darkness was upon the face of the deep/waters.  (Gen 1:2)
(the darkness, therefore, came from the created heaven)
(the "face of the waters" implies a surface of water)
(water in space tends to become a sphere,
because of the water's surface tension)
(the earth's form is established during Day#2 and Day#3)
How was light created ? God said, Let there be light: and there was light.  (Gen 1:3)
How were Day and Night created ? God divided the light from the darkness.
God called the light Day,
and the darkness he called Night.  (Gen 1:4-5a)
What else was created
on the 1st day ?

Day#1 ends

the evening and the morning were the first day.  (Gen 1:5b)
(the source(s) of light from heaven were primarily on
one side of the earth, thus creating Day on one side,
and Night on the other side of the earth)
(the earth was set to spin on its axis, once every 24 hours)
(God introduces His concept of a 24 hour daily cycle:
it begins with evening, then night, morning, and daytime)
Day#2 begins:
What does God do with
some of the water
covering the earth ?
Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters,
and let it divide the waters from the waters.  (Gen 1:6-7)
(the firmament is the earth's air atmosphere)
(some of the water was placed above the earth's atmosphere,
that would have formed into a frozen sphere of
transparent ice, beyond the earth's atmosphere or firmament)
(this may later have become the source of water for Noah's flood
which covered the tops of the mountains  Gen 7:19-20, 8:4-5)
What does God call
the firmament ?
God called the firmament Heaven.  (Gen 1:8a)
(sometimes the earth's atmosphere is called the first heaven,
which is part of the progression that leads to
Paul's reference to the third heaven in  2Co 12:2)
Day#2 ends the evening and the morning were the second day.  (Gen 1:8b)
Day#3 begins:
What does God do with
the remaining water
covering the earth ?
Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together
unto one place, and let the dry land appear:  (Gen 1:9)
(this implies one large ocean, and therefore perhaps one large
land mass (before the earth was divided (continents were
separated) in the days of Peleg  Gen 10:25, 1Ch 1:19)
What did God call the dry land ?
What did God call the waters ?
God called the dry land Earth; and the
gathering together of the waters called he Seas:  (Gen 1:10)
What else was created
on the 3rd day ?
God said, Let the earth bring forth grass,
the herb yielding seed,
and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind,
whose seed is in itself, upon the earth:  (Gen 1:11-12)
Day#3 ends the evening and the morning were the third day.  (Gen 1:13)
Day#4 begins:
How did God create the calendar
with lights ?
God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven
to divide the day from the night; and let them be
for signs, and
for seasons, and
for days, and years: and
let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven
to give light upon the earth:  (Gen 1:14-15)
What purpose does God assign
to each of these lights ?
God made two great lights;
the greater light to rule the day [the Sun],
and the lesser light to rule the night [the Moon]:
he made the stars also [to give us an annual calendar]  (Gen 1:16-18)
Day#4 ends the evening and the morning were the fourth day.  (Gen 1:19)
Day#5 begins:
What 2 groups of animals did
God create on the 5th day ?
(Hint: one group lives in the water,
and the other group flies around
  in the sky)
God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly
the moving creature that hath life, and
fowl that may fly above the earth
in the open firmament of heaven.  (Gen 1:20)

God created great whales, and
every living creature that moveth,
which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and
every winged fowl after his kind:  (Gen 1:21)

What is God's plan to populate
the seas and the skies
with animals ?
God blessed them, saying,
Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and
let fowl multiply in the earth.  (Gen 1:22)
Day#5 ends the evening and the morning were the fifth day.  (Gen 1:23)
Day#6 begins:
How does God categorize the
remaining animals to be created ?
God said, Let the earth bring forth (and God made)
the living creature after his kind,
cattle after their kind, and
every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and
the beast of the earth after his kind:  (Gen 1:24-25)
Was Adam the only one
(man and/or woman)
created by God on the 6th day ?
(later, the Bible says God put (in the garden in Eden)
the man whom he had formed.  (Gen 2:8,15)
(Therefore, only Adam was created here on the 6th day,
but God's plans and blessings for men and women
are given here on the 6th day.)
What are God's plans for
creating man ?
(male and female)
God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:  (Gen 1:26a)
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  (Gen 1:27)
What are God's plans for
man's relationship to be with
the animals and with
the earth ?
let them [man] have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and
over the fowl of the air, and
over the cattle, and
over all the earth, and
over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
(Gen 1:26b, Gen 1:28b)
What is God's plan to populate
the earth with people ?
God blessed them [male and female], and God said unto them,
Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth,
and subdue it:  (Gen 1:28a)
What is to be "meat" for people ? God said, Behold, I have given you
every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and
every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed;
to you it shall be for meat.  (Gen 1:29)
What is to be "meat" for
the animals ?
to every beast of the earth, and
to every fowl of the air, and
to every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
  wherein there is life,
I have given every green herb for meat:  (Gen 1:30)
Day#6 ends the evening and the morning were the sixth day.  (Gen 1:31)
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished,
and all the host of them.  (Gen 2:1)
Day#7 begins:
What does God do on
the 7th day of Creation Week ?
on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and
he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it:
because that in it he had rested from all his work
which God created and made.  (Gen 2:2-3)
(this sanctified 7th day of the week is later called the Sabbath day,
which begins Friday at sundown, and ends Saturday at sundown)
(most calendars show Saturday as being the 7th day of the week)
Day#7 ends, Creation Week ends (the evening and the morning were the seventh day)
